Beaches Grande Terre Guadeloupe

In Grande Terre, the beaches of Sainte Anne are unmissable. La Caravelle, Bois-Jolan, the town beach are very beautiful. Protected by a coral reef and a shallow lagoon, they are suitable for families with children. As a result, they are also very busy, particularly during the tourist season. Parking is not always easy there.

In Moule, the beach of l'Autre bord or the small beach of Montal are pleasant, although exposed to the Atlantic Ocean.

In Morne-à-l'Eau, Babin beach is little known to tourists, but very popular with locals who like to smear their bodies with the sulfurous mud from the seagrass, known for its benefits for the skin.

Note that, for several years, the coasts exposed to the East and South of the island (Gosier, Sainte Anne, Saint François, Le Moule) have quite regularly suffered strandings of algae known as "sargassum", which makes then the beaches much less attractive. Beach fans then fall back on the unexposed beaches of Port-Louis or Basse Terre.

If you follow the English series Death in Paradise, it is in Deshaies that most of the scenes are filmed. During filming season, for example, you will see the inspector's little Creole hut on the beach between La Perle and Rifflet.

If you are not too keen on walking, the walk from Mambia to Pointe Allègre, where the first settlers landed, is very pleasant and takes around 2 hours round trip.

Then, from Deshaies towards Pointe Noire, the beaches of Petite Anse and Ferry are the last with white, or rather pink, sand. Further south, the coral coast becomes volcanic, with black sand or pebble beaches. Caribbean Beach, Anse Colas, Malendure, the hot springs of Thomas in Bouillante.... Then we find white sand

Continuing into the south of Basse Terre, you will find other black sand beaches. The small beach of Rocroy and the beach of the pond in Vieux Habitants have their charm, that of Rivière-Sens, near the marina is pleasant and lively. Going up the windward coast of Basse Terre, you find yourself on the more turbulent Atlantic side. Grande Anse beach in Trois-Rivières is worth a look, with its magnificent view of Les Saintes. Going further up this coast, Roseau beach in Capesterre-Belle-Eau is popular with locals who like to picnic there with their families.

Maison de vacances Guadeloupe - Jaden Kreyol

Beaches of Guadeloupe: Jaden Kreyol visitors' opinions

Many visitors of out Jaden Kreyol cottage tell us that of course, the life-size "postcard" beaches of Sainte Anne are magnificent, but they often prefer the wild beaches and coast of Basse Terre, which are also much less crowded. That said, the central location of our accommodation allows you to visit all of Guadeloupe without traveling too far, and to see a maximum of things in a minimum of time. The cottage is less than 30' from Gosier, Bouillante and Deshaies, and 5' from the entrance to the Guadeloupe National Park. Sainte Anne is 40' away, Saint François and Port Louis are approximately 50' away. During the week, our geographical location allows you to travel against traffic jams in Grande Terre. This is also what confirms our guests reviews.
